  1. Hi guys.
I don’t know much about the various 90s relaunches of Challengers of the Unknown but I loved the treatment Karl Kesel gave them in Adventures of Superman 508 (not surprising given how great Kesel was at handling Kirby material). This story featured the true Challs accidentally brought forward in time from 1958 to 1994 (from between panels in an original 1958 issue). It was Kitson art too! Just goes to show that sometimes the classics are best. Just don’t get me angry at how DC dumped the JSA again!

The idea about leaving a scene before the end brings to mind an Alan Moore Star Wars story, written for the UK Star Wars comic. Due to a production error, the final page was missed out, leaving it unfinished. And yet the story amazingly works fine as it is. In fact, when the final page saw print in Dark Horse reprints, I actually thought it worked better in the original printing. The story is called “Dark Lord’s Conscience” and can be found in Classic Star Wars Devil Worlds 1 (available on Marvel Unlimited).
